Dear David,

I have been recieving your newsletter for quite sometime now & I must admit honestly that it took me much to grasp the essence of voluntourism.I believe its a unique way of blending tourism with humanitarian aspect with high social and economoic benefits. I believe Voluntourism has great potential for incorporating in itself apart from social but to a great extent Enviormental, Educational, Cultural & Ecotourism. As a travel professional with a Post graduate diploma in tourism i never came across such thing either in my training or at works. I strongly believes that this concept can go a long way in securing stakes of local communities and can forward the debate for community owned tourism.

Dear Priyank,

Many thanks for your considerate email. I share the sentiments that you have voiced here and greatly appreciate your interest in looking further into how VolunTourism can support community-based tourism.

I decided to share this post with others for a number of reasons. Certainly your sincerity is compelling. You also touch on subjects that others have voiced regarding the tie to other types of tourism. I learned quite a bit about how this may serve other niches within tourism when I attended the Adventure Travel World Summit in Seattle.

I look forward to hearing more about your interest in VolunTourism and how you may put it into practice in your work.
